DC Jobs with Justice is hosting a community meeting tomorrow night focused on a local electrical subcontractor accused of wage theft. Power Design, an electrical subcontractor working on the Line Hotel, Howard University redevelopment, and other projects throughout the District, has been accused of failure to pay overtime, paying under the minimum wage, making workers labor off the clock, and misclassifying workers (read more here in City Paper). "Companies that steal from workers should not be rewarded with building contracts!" says JWJ DC. The meeting starts at 7p November 9 at The Festival Center in northwest DC; RSVP here.
