The DC Public Employee Relations Board (PERB) has adopted new rules governing the filing of complaints and other important procedural aspects of labor relations for District government workers, unions and agencies. The new rules will be posted October 1 on the PERB website. Ann Hoffman, a member of PERB, says the new rules are designed to be more consistent and clear than the existing rules, but they do change the deadlines for filing certain documents. "Union leaders should make sure that their representatives know about the changes," Hoffman said. She noted that objections to earlier drafts of the new rules filed by union attorneys and other representatives were taken into account in preparation of the final rules.
