Anderson started and ended her career in AFSCME’s Education department beginning as an education coordinator and retiring as the associate director of the department.
“Carol was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the AFSCME Women’s Leadership Academy,” said Saunders. “She traveled extensively in her role as an educator and touched the lives of so many of our AFSCME sisters and brothers across the country. Carol will be truly missed by all of us.”
Anderson was also an active member of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, an active member of CLUW and the UALE, and a masters in Organization Development..
