Metro Washington Council delegates on Monday night nominated Jackie Jeter to serve as President. If elected at next month's meeting as expected (she's the only candidate), Jeter (right), who's president of ATU Local 689, will be the Metro Council's first female president. "I'm tremendously excited at the chance to work with the Council's leadership to improve the lives of working people across the metro region," Jeter told Union City. "Together with our new Executive Director and the dynamic combination of new blood and experienced hands on the Board, I know we'll achieve great things." The election will be held at the March 21 Council meeting. See below for other Board nominees.
