![]() Last month, DC started collecting taxes for paid family and medical leave. Last week, key regulations were published that will decide who gets access to paid leave next year, when the program starts. But, reports Jews United for Justice, there's a serious problem with the regulations. “Under these regs, tens of thousands of workers, especially low-income women of color, may not be able to access paid family leave,” says JUFJ DC Campaigns Manager Joanna Blotner. “This is not the universal paid leave that we fought hard to pass in 2016,” says Blotner. Click here now to write to the Office of Paid Family Leave and let them know that the Universal Paid Leave Act should be truly universal. “Let's roll up our sleeves and get to work now so that we can all access our leave next year,” says Blotner.
