Pizzo (right, with NALC President Fredric Rolando), a letter carrier in Snellville, Georgia, was the 2016 National Association of Letter Carriers Hero of the Year. Pizzo’s quick action saved a 7-year-old girl from a pit bull attack. The NALC was formed on this date in 1889.
