Laborers’ Ernest Ojito fights hard, on and off the mat

When Laborers Local 202 Business Manager Ernest Ojito recently won the IJF World Judo Championships, he showed his union pride on the winner’s podium (photo). Ojito was undefeated to win the only American M-1 gold medal and gave a shout-out to “all my union brothers and sisters throughout the labor movement, my friend and supporter Dennis Martire (LiUNA! Regional manager) and to Laborers president Terry O' Sullivan who have supported me and inspired me to fight hard on and off the mat with commitment and dedication. Not only to fight for myself, but for my members as well, and most importantly for those who can’t fight for themselves.”
