![]() The locked-out Baltimore Symphony Orchestra musicians had intended to wrap up their picketing last Friday, but they’ll be out there again today and tomorrow (see Calendar). “We are just having too much fun banging on buckets and metal bowls, yelling chants, and asking people to honk their horns,” reports Mary Plaine, Secretary-Treasurer of AFM Local 40-543. They won’t picket Wednesday, when they’ll be in rehearsal for the evening's sold-out Independence Day Extravaganza. The locked-out musicians “appreciate the tremendous support of organized labor in our fight for a fair contract,” said Plaine, urging supporters to have “a fun and safe July 4th holiday,” noting that "You can also purchase our new, patriotic t-shirts(photo) online and/or contribute to the musicians here."
