"Like a ray of sunshine, Shirley Jenkins worked the cash register in the Madison Cafeteria these many years, always with a smile and a kind word to say to the staff and the public," AFSCME 2910 president Saul Schniderman tells Union City. Local 2910, the Library of Congress (LOC) Professional Guild, represents LOC staffers. A veteran of UNITE HERE Local 23’s efforts to improve working conditions for food service workers, Jenkins said she plans to travel and spend time with her family.
