More than 300 labor activists and allies enjoyed food and fellowship at the annual Northern Virginia Labor federation picnic in Woodbridge, VA on Monday. Hot dogs and hamburgers were prepared by members of IUEC 10 and IAFF 2068 while IBEW 26 laid out a shrimp boil. Many others supplied salads, baked beans, watermelons and deserts. Local elected officials and candidates served the food to union members and their families. Among the guests were Congressmen Don Beyer and Gerry Connolly. Because Virginia has elections every year, NoVA Labor President Dan Duncan advised all to “eat up as precinct walks begin Saturday.” Doors open at 8:30 am Saturday at the NoVA Labor office, 4536-B John Marr Drive, Annandale VA 22003.
