Auditions for the show about the 1940s tobacco workers struggle are open to local rank and file union members, says Elise Bryant, who's directing Steve Jones' jazz opera about an early victory against Jim Crow in the 1940’s. "In the past we have had real union organizers like Lynn Marie Smith portray a fictional union organizer on stage," says Jones. Auditions for 19 roles are coming up Wednesday andThursday night this week; to schedule an audition call Steve Jones at 301-807-5348 or Elise Bryant at 202-637-3963.
