![]() There’s a new resource for DC area immigrants -- including many union members, their families, friends and neighbors, who are increasingly affected by escalating harassment by the Trump administration. Sanctuary DMV operates a hotline where callers can report ICE activity at their workplace or in their community and also request accompaniment to immigration court hearings or ICE check-ins in DC, Baltimore and Northern Virginia. The hotline -- 202-355-1183 -- is staffed by bilingual (Spanish/English) volunteers. For more information on how you -- or your union -- can get involved, contact UAW Local 1981 member and retired union editor and communications director Fred Solowey at [email protected].
