Guests on this week’s show included WTU 6's Tom O’Rourke, Jackie Jeter (ATU 689) and Judith Howell (SEIU 32BJ).O'Rourke is a DC teacher – and WTU Local 6 member -- wrongly fired under the DCPS’ controversial “IMPACT” teacher evaluation system. An arbitrator ruled Monday that the school system has to re-hire him.Jackie Jeter, president of ATU 689 (and newly-elected president of the Metro Washington Council) discusses why transit workers representing Metrorail, Metrobus, MetroAccess and DC Streetcar will be drawing attention to the growing number of transit assaults in the Washington DC region by wearing red and blue bracelets with the hashtag #TransitLivesMatter today. Judith Howell, security officer and member of the bargaining committee for SEIU Local 32BJ explains how the unique security challenges of the capital city have continued to mount along with the cost of living in D.C. Union City Radio’s Chris Garlock hosts, with DCNA Executive Director Ed Smith. Plus this week’s labor song -- Workin’ Man Blues in honor of Merle Haggard -- and quiz.
