If you’re a union staffer running for political office – or know someone who is -- the Prince George's/Montgomery County and District of Columbia Committees on Political Education (COPE) want to hear from you. The committees are looking to “identify viable labor candidates that we could possibly support in this upcoming primary,” says DC COPE Chair Andrew Washington (AFSCME Council 20). “It could also be a great opportunity to support a viable candidate that could help us increase our political strength in key areas,” adds Prince George's/Montgomery County COPE Chair Doris Reed (ASASP). Send the following info to Metro Washington Council Political Director David Dzidzienyo at [email protected] or call him at (202) 320-9027: candidate name, union name, office they’re running for, contact information.
