If you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.”Lilla Watson is an Indigenous Australian civil rights activist and artist who has worked for voting rights and my understanding is that while these words are often attributed to her, she has preferred that they be credited to “Aboriginal activists group, Queensland, 1970s.”
