Federal workers still catching up on their overdue bills and worried about another possible shutdown on Friday are getting a bit of relief thanks to a $10,000 grant from the United Way National Capital Area to the Metro Washington Council’s Community Services Agency. "This assistance comes at such an important moment,” said CSA Executive Director Sonte DuCote. “It will help workers affected by the shutdown at a time when they are most vulnerable,” needing help to pay utility bills and keep their homes. Noting that CSA is a longtime partner with the United Way National Capital Area, DuCote said that “CSA is honored to be a recipient of this generous award and we’re excited about the impact it will have on keeping workers whole." Affiliates with members impacted by the shutdown can email [email protected] to learn more about accessing this funding.
