![]() With the strike by nearly 40,000 Verizon workers entering its second week, the financial impact on the strikers and their families is beginning to take its toll. “Money is getting tight and the need is great,” reports Community Services Agency Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy. They’re also accepting and distributing donations of non-perishable food (nothing with a past sell by date). Meanwhile, over 100 area strikers and their supporters – including CWA, Working America, Jobs with Justice and many students and area activists – picketed the F Street Verizon Wireless yesterday at noon.
