Weekend Anxiety Coping Strategies: Don't fret -- walk!

11/4/2016

Picture
Looking for a way to pitch in this weekend – to contact the last swing voter in the last swing state? See below for walk opportunities in Pennsylvania and Virginia. “Pennsylvania is Hillary Clinton’s firewall state,” reports the AFL-CIO’s Jon Hiatt. “Trump cannot win without it.  Although he has made inroads among white Philadelphia suburban men in the past two weeks, Clinton still enjoys a 3 to 5 point lead in most Pennsylvania polls; Nate Silver at 538.com believes she has 3.8 point lead.  Pennsylvania will also likely determine the control of the U.S. Senate.  The race between Pat Toomey and Katie McGinty is a dead heat with most polls giving McGinty a 1 point lead.  Clinton is in a better position in Virginia, where 538.com believes she has a 4.8 point lead. Virginia also has a right to work constitutional amendment on the ballot and key House races.”

Overall the AFL-CIO and the Working America Coalition have more than 2,900 full time release staff in the field.  “We are by far the biggest volunteer program in the country, the progressives’ firewall,” says Hiatt.  “Our GOTV goal is to knock on about 1.1 million doors and have conversations with 200,000 voters.  With everyone’s help, we will get there.”
