Retiring Metro Council president Jos Williams was awarded a special Eyes on the Prize Award at the AFL-CIO's MLK Conference Award Gala and Dinner Sunday night, as Maryland State and DC AFL-CIO president Fred Mason lauded "stellar trade unionist" Williams' "46 years of service and leadership" to the labor movement and workers. "It's been a labor of love," said a surprised and visibly moved Williams (left). "I'm gratified to accept the award; the struggle continues."
